Team - 3:05 AM

Detox-bath is one of the easiest healing therapies which detoxifies the body from toxins. Our bodies are prone to more toxins than ever nowadays. They are present in the air, food, medications, and water. As they can cause irritation, and harm the body they are harmful for our well being.

Detoxification is a method for removal and metabolism of toxins and other dangerous compounds. In fact, without us even knowing it this is a natural process in the body which takes place. Nonetheless, the capacity of the body for detoxification is not endless.

The harder it is for the body to eliminate them properly the more toxins we are exposed to. The number of toxins that can harm our bodies is large. For example, water is often contaminated with pollutants, the shampoos and soaps we use on a daily basis are filled with chemicals, toothpaste contains fluoride, genetically modified foods contain pesticides, etc.

Unfortunately, on the increases is the exposure to toxic substances. Namely, in the water supply have been found 2100 toxins, including pesticides, herbicides, PCBs, and medications, in the air 80000 metric tons of carcinogens are released annually in North America, more than 80% of the food is genetically modified, the average US citizen has residues from more than 400 toxic compounds in their body according to the EPA,, 82000 chemicals are used in US today, but only a fourth have been tested for toxicity.

Unnecessary exposure can be reduced as well as the body’s capability of eliminating toxins can be improved although it is impossible to make our toxin exposure equal to zero. One way is to practice detox-baths which can boost the health and strengthen the immunity and prevent the occurrence of diseases.

We get sick when there is a toxic deposit in our body. The problems with detoxification are the root of illnesses according to the functional medicine expert, Dr. Mark Hyman. It is likely that they are toxic when people feel lousy. The liver is in charge of removing toxins and metabolic waste from the body by converting them to water-soluble compounds.

Through urine these compounds are eliminated. By the liver the waste products which aren’t water-soluble are transformed and excreted in the bile which is then transported to the intestines and it is removed from the body through the bowels.

Eliminated through sweating are toxins that haven’t been removed in this way. To practice detoxification baths consisted of Epsom salt which is known to draw out toxins is another way to remove toxins from your body, but it holds numerous other benefits like less stress, improved concentration and sleep, proper function of the nerves and muscles, prevented artery hardening and blood clotting, increased insulin effectiveness, reduced inflammation, relief of pain and muscle cramps, improved oxygen use, removal of toxins, improved absorption of nutrients, alleviation of migraines, etc.

To 2 cups of Epsom salt add 5 to 10 drops of essential oil of your choosing and then add this mixture to a tub full of water. Add 1 cup of baking soda to neutralize chemicals, primarily chlorine if your bath water isn’t filtered, and to increase the absorption of minerals.

Then, immerse yourself in the water and close your eyes. Do some breathing exercise and soak for 20 minutes. Then, you can get out of the tub and shower with cool water. As they will enter your bloodstream through your open pores don’t use harsh soaps or shampoos.
