Food usually needs 24 hours to pass through the body and foods low in nutrients, fiber and enzymes need 70 hours or more to digest properly. This results in large waste deposits in the intestine. Constipation is the first sign that toxins are present in the body.
Symptoms of “blocked” bowels/constipation usually include:

– infections of the bladder or vaginal infections

– mood swings
– muscle and joint aches
Furthermore, the symptoms of indigestion include abdominal pain, flatulence, diarrhea, bloating and/or constipation.
In 1940, Stanley Burroughs, an alternative medicine practitioner, came up with a program for cleansing the colon, which takes 10 to 16 days.
- 300ml filtered water
– a pinch of Cayenne pepper powder
– 2 tablespoons of organic maple syrup and ½ of a fresh squeezed lemon
This remedy is easily prepared. Simply mix all the ingredients together and consume the mixture for at least 10 days, 5-8 times a day.
Essential oils are also very useful for cleansing the colon because they contain nutrients that are easily absorbed.
- 10 drops of peppermint essential oil
– 1 freshly squeezed lemon (organic)
Mix both ingredients and add 250ml of water. Consume this mixture for the next 14 days and you will feel the benefits.
