The combination of bananas and water has proven to be an amazing natural remedy against cough. It was tested in the treatment of persistent cough and bronchitis, and it was found that besides in adults, it is extremely effective in children as well.

Recipe with Bananas against Cough
- 2 medium ripe bananas ( preferably the ones with dots)
- 400 ml of boiling water
- 2 tablespoons of sugar or honey
Note: If you decide to use honey add it once the mixture is slightly cooled, as honey loses its nutrients when exposed to high temperatures.
The first step is peeling the bananas and mashing them with spoon or fork. It is recommended to use plastic or wooden spoon/fork so that the bananas don’t get dark. Then, add the sugar and stir well. Add the boiling water, cover and wait for about half an hour. As mentioned above, if you use honey add it in the end, once the mixture is slightly cooled. Finally, strain the mixture through a strainer. The final step is optional and you don’t have to do it if you don’t want to.
Heat the mixture and consume it four times daily (about 100ml). Prepare a new dosage every day. Your cough will stop within few days, without the use of over-the-counter drugs you normally turn to.
